Last Friday, I dated wifey to Kungfu Tom Yum located at circular Road.
I’ve always wanted to try the place ever since I went pass it one day and saw the packed restaurant and the food smelt oh so nice.
We arrived about 7pm, way before my reservation timing but Thank God the staff managed to find a place for us and so we can start dinner earlier.
As the name suggested, that place is selling Thai Food (wifey’s favourite) and we had a choice of either eating steamboat or a-la-carte.
We chose the former and I would say it was quite an experience... using pork lard as oil, avoiding the splattering oil and making sure our BBQ doesn’t slip into the soup or get burnt... Phew.
It was a rather warm and congested place because it is modelled after those Thai road side stalls...the $38 set that we ordered consisted of a lot of well marinated pork, some prawns, scallops and fish cakes and also a plate of veggies, straw mushrooms and clear glass noodles The amount of food was just enough for 2 of us to share.
To add tom yum flavour to the soup , we also bought a pack of instant noodles to pour in, it makes the soup very saltish though...
After dinner, we just sat along boat quay to chit chat and enjoy the night breeze before strolling over to Fullerton and take a bus home.
It was a nice date with darling.
